I wish I could say that I have been fiendishly knitting during the past 1-2 weeks. But I can’t. I’ve been trying to make up some billables at work, which means getting to work early and staying a little later than normal. I haven’t even exercised in about a week and I haven’t been eating “right” (as in skipping meals and substituting chocolate and coffee).

I started Rowan’s Raspy about two weeks ago and, let me tell you, it’s such slow going! I believe Denim yarn must be sock weight, not "double knit" weight. I’ve been doing nothing but stockinette and have very little to show. Perhaps someone sneaks in at night to unravel my work like Penelope?

Back with Bifrost

Thanks for all the wonderful comments on my stockings!!

My sabbatical from blogging lasted much longer than I anticipated. I think part of the problem is that I am on “the computer” most of the work day (80-90%?), typing, emailing, researching, ad infinitum. For the past couple of weeks, I literally lacked the physical and mental energy to blog at the end of the day. Pathetic, huh. The other part of the problem is that my home computer is (pardon) pleine de merde, as in full of viruses, outdated/slow and bothersome. I need to buy a new one.

I knit up this Nordic Light capelet from Wrap Style in Cascade 220 during the past couple of weeks. I truly love it, even though it is somewhat of a "colorful strait jacket," as one fellow crafter aptly described it.

Nordic Lights

Nordic Lights is a deceptively VERY FUN Fair Isle project since – until you get to the neck area – you simply go round and round on circs. And the color changes mean you can’t get bored. No, you just can’t.

I think of it as my own personal Bifrost.
